Can half frame camera film be processed in a standard lab ?

Hello all,

I started with the idea of trying to find a 135 camera that would do square format and someone mentioned 1/2 frame cameras, This got me to wondering can normal processors scan in the normal way IE: Would I just have two photos in one frame or is there a gap between each half frame which would make the scanner cut part of each image ? (Hope that makes sense !)

It can be developed ok - it's just regular 135 film. For scanning, I think you might end up with double frames per scan, although this is just from what I've seen on some Youtube videos, and not from actual experience. I'd contact the lab. I'm sure they'll be able to confirm.

Some labs will cater for 1/2 frame and others will not. It will depend on the equipment that they have. And how easy it is to adjust to make standard sized prints. You will need to ask. 1/2 frame camera users are few and far between these days.
