Yes
We have an Epson Stylus SX115 and I've just replaced the black ink tank with a brand new Epson Cheetah cartridge which is supposed to be bigger. Upon installing it I checked the nozzles and a few of the lines were missing so cleaned the nozzles, which didn't work and cleaned the nozzles 4 more times. Now the printer is telling me the cartridge is now empty.:( Can this be so??

Mmmmmm......I wouldn't think that it should use so much ink. I don't know about this particular printer, but I have had another type of Epson printer that I needed to replace because the electronics were mis-reading the yellow cartridge and saying that it was empty when it wasn't. The replacement printer that Epson supplied under warranty is fine. If yours is reading the black cartridge as part empty then this would be more difficult to diagnose perhaps. Ask Epson for advice?

we have exactly the same printer & are having the same problems even when using cheetah cartridges, by the time it has finished messing about cleaning the nozzles, which it want to do everytime, the ink has all but been used.
We have tried many things but this always happens.:bang:

We have now decided that the printer is just a PITA so are going to chuck it out & replace with a different brand of printer after xmas. I have has Epson printers in the past & have been very pleased, but this model is just a disgrace!:bonk:

It is possible that you may still have plenty of ink left but probably the only way to find out is by resetting the chip on the cartridge.

Resetters are readily available very cheap from a well know auction site.
