Yes
I know, sounds silly but I have a "snap" taken at my brothers wedding which led me to wonder if inconveniently placed bubbles could be cloned out or if it is simply too complicated. Obviously the real answer is keep your finger on the shutter and wait for the bubble to disappear :D

thanks for your feedback - I hasten to add that I was definitely not the official tog of the day but just took some shots for myself when being a family member allowed.

I'd say clone tool, but it looks like a long and laborious task, I dunno if I'd attempt it.
Still, clone tool would work for those trainers too, stone cold candidate for a clip round the earhole he is...

Yep he's an awkward so and so and he got a lot of stick for the trainers... not surprisingly.

He also didn't want photos, no poses and their "official" tog was only present at the ceremony but didn't move around and get pics at all, she had no tripod, no flash (not that I did either but I'm not claiming to be professional). Getting a serious photo from these two was nigh on impossible...

The processing is just a test to see if it works with their "style"

I'm told it's called the "Dr Who" look, it seems to be popular to wear trainers with a suit at the moment.

It depends on how big the final image is going to be.

If it's not going to get any bigger than it is, it ould be a quick job.

If it's going to be larger (with the faces the size of the second image), and you have a much higher res original, youre looking at a lot of work to make sure the blends with the skin are clean.

I'd leave the bubbles alone, they're fun :)

Yes, I do have much higher res image but was just wondering if it can be done (apparently it can be done) if I get down to learning a lot very quickly

I would leave most alone too but in that particular pic the one over my brother's right eye is a bit of a problem for me.

anyway, thanks all for the feedback

I think the bubbles look great. I can see why you might just want to remove the ones around the couples heads though, but I'd leave the rest personally.

If you want to send me a larger image I'll be happy to have a go for you, but I'm not promising anything - the one over your brother's eye could be pretty easy or really difficult - hard to tell at this size.

What about this for you?

Thanks all

U8myufo - that's about the result I got when I tried but he looks as if he's lost an eye :p poor lad

CT - if you want to have a go, you can find it at http://kathermans.smugmug.com/ under P&S (I put it there alone so you can find it) - anyways, there are loads of other photos so don't waste too much of your time on it and you never know the official tog might have a decent shot or two! I was just so horrified that she wasn't there for the preparation nor at the house nor even when they arrived at the venue... and if I hadn't asked them to stand a bit closer there wouldn't have been any "closer" shots.

OK Kath - just having alook at it. PM me an addy to send it to if I can sort it out. :)

Kath having had a good look at it -that eye is completely gone, there's no detail at all to work with. The only solution is to use the other eye, which seldom works well anyway and changes the person's appearance completely. No matter how much tme is spent on it, it will always look suspect.

My honest advice is to charge it down to experience. I know you say they were an awkward couple, but the shadow across the bride's face isn't helping either.

I resisted the temptation to change his shoes too. :D

OK thanks a lot CT - I figured it was one for experience and in any case I'm not ready to start wedding photography just yet ;)

It's kind of reassuring to know that everyone else finds it as hard as I did - I was thinking that maybe I'd missed something!!

thanks again

No it's not really do-able to any reasonable standard Kath. I sometimes get asked to restore images where half the features are completely missing, but thre's no chance of achieving a likeness of the individual at all.

Thanks all

Ok kath, nothing ventured eh? ;) Pity really, tbh I would have been more concerned about his shoes rather than the bubble :D

I'd agree on the shoes but hey, that's what he wanted and I guess it's their day - he's very off-the-wall and in that way we're quite alike though my wedding shots don't include trainers!!
