Can anyone tell me what this is, and where I can get it developed?

Hi All,

My Grandmother has passed these on to me, hoping I'll be able to get them developed. They are of her Grandfather who served in WW1. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

It's normal everyday black and white negative film. Any lab should be able to scan them for you or any friend with a negative scanner!

and its already been developed ,they just need to be printed

( and he must have be at least 90 years old when the photo was taken )

Oh excellent. I'll get them done at the weekend.

Thanks,

It looks like a picture of a picture.

Someone not too old? in a uniform...maybe a policeman, soldier or calvary man ?

Fp4+ was launched in 1990 iirc, so if it is a photo of someone who served in WW1 it's either a photo of a old(ish) chap, or it's a photographic copy of a old photo... which is quite concieveable as there's a white border inside the actual exposed photo area...

edit: Dom, if you have problems sorting out someone to scan the negatives, drop me a PM and I'll sort something for you...

Looks to me as if he could be wearing an old-fashioned fireman's helmet. I'm intrigued.

Got them developed at boots, thanks for the help. Its a photo of my great grandad who served in the 12th lancers. The woman in boots said a new negative had been made from an old photo. Will post a copy of the photo.
