Can anyone tell me what NL MPN means please?

No
I'm just looking at some completed eBay listings for 70-200 f/4L lenses at the moment. The going rate seems to be around £350, but there's one or two outliers, which all have NL MPN in their title or description.

Take this one - it went for £200.

Now the only thing I can guess is Netherlands Manufacturer's Part Number, but although I think I may be on the money with the MPN, the NL bit just doesn't seem quite right!

I'd appreciate anyone who is able to clear this up, as a Google search on the subject has so far turned up nothing unfortunately!

Best Regards,
Ray

If you trawl through the ebay archives, you'll see a few DE MPN in there too; they only seem to appear in relation to ebay, so I'm going to hazard a guess that you're spot on the money.

When you list an item can you auto populate the details by entering a part number? Perhaps it's just the eBay's way of saying that the part number identified is in someway geographically limited by Canon (not that in the case of a lens, it would have any impact, but perhaps it does matter for other items - DVD players etc)?

Anyone else?

Thanks for the input Furtim. That does go along with my gut feeling - it's just that I don't quite understand why these NL MPN variants go for *so* much less. Especially as in the case of a lens, it doesn't really matter (not that any of these are still in warranty)!
Thanks once again
