...thats not huge and can make A4 prints at a reasonable speed for under £300

Depends on the quality of prints of course...I assume photo quality prints?
I have an Epson R300 which prints out super lovely A4 prints. I think it has been updated but it was about £100 puonds when I bought it. It cannot be faulted.

theres a nice review in the Digital camera mag this month. they say the sony dpp-fp95 is a good dye-sub printer does A4 in 42 secs.... £120
or the best value for money Epson pictureMate 290. 40 secs A4, £180 got lcd screen, card slots. the reason its better value for money is they say out of all the printers they tested this one came out the best.

Canon MP610 is an awesome printer cannot rate it enough to be honest. Its such a great printer.
