Thinking of dipping my toe/taking the plunge with 4x5. Can anyone recommend a lens that won’t break the bank considering I’d be spending a good deal on the other paraphernalia…
 
Schneider Kreuznach 90mm f8, wide-ish, pretty sharp, fairly compact and inexpensive ( comparatively).
 
I just bought a Schneider-Kreuznach f8/90mm on eBay for £135 inc postage, it seems £125-150 are about the mark for those with a computer Copal0 shutter

Agree with this. This focal length is very common, so should be able to find one fairly cheap. My only data point is a Nikon 150mm W 5.6, and it’s a fantastic lens :)
