hi all, am taking a course in studio and portrait photography next year and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what professional lighting and backdrops are available. have seen some on ebey but not sure if they would be right.
obviously budget is a factor. i am looking at going into doing family portraits at customers homes so anything that is easily transported would be useful
thanks

i would wait until your course starts, then your tutor can give you any advice that you need. It really depends on a number of things, what your mode of transport is, what sort of lighting you feel you want to work with, and what backgrounds you want to use too.

hopefully on your course you will be given the opportunity to try out a few different lighting kits and setups, before deciding which ones you would like to put your hard earned cash into

good luck with it.

the course is in burton on trent and covers various topics, portrait/studio, still life, nature, landscapes etc of which you have to choose 1 to specialize in.
the course covers all aspects of portrait and studio photography. it will cover some lighting but not actual equipment
