Can anybody recommend a photography course

I have been on the two courses run by Freddy and his son.

Very relaxed and informal.

His prices have gone up a bit since I went.

I was a complete novice with a nice new camera when I went .... Some might say I still am. :D

:canon:

Just had a idea

Why dont i just go on the course then i can answer my own question

Thanks for the advice

To be honest .... I have learnt as much from this forum and the internet as I did from Freddy.

He has a great teaching style but the first course Is/was for complete beginners.

im a complete novice with a nice new camera, was the course ok and would you recommend it

howd you do that, you answered before id asked

Thanks

I really enjoyed my weekends with them but it was quite a lot of money.

If you are going to book this then I would go for the first weekend and then make your mind up about the second one.

Second one for me mainly involved the studio side of photography which I was never going to get into in a big way.

£295 would buy a lot of books.

fare point.

That was my plan. im still undecided but thanks, decisions decisions

David's a good lad I have done a couple of bits and peices with him very relaxed but informative Based in MK but runs courses all around inc Northhamton

Hey Crog,
Have you checked OU Photography courses mate?
Some of our buddies [Not me] have been on these and they should be able to throw light on the merits & de-merits of these courses.

I'm also on the OU course and would recommend it if:

a) you are fairly new to DSLR and want to learn about post processing
b) if you are using a Digital SLR rather than a compact as part of the course is about getting you off auto and shooting in aperture or shutter priority.

You also get a free copy of elements 5 as this is what the video tutorials are based on.
