Can any head fit any bit of equipment??

I've got a velbon qhd-33q ball head to go with my monopod.

Just wondering if I can use this head on any other brand of equipment like a redsnapper tripod or any other type of tripod or if I have to now stick with velbon??

Yes.

Though as these things go, it's not a great head. RedSnapper RSH-12 ball head is good.

I've got a Manfrotto ball head fitted to my SLR Zoom Gorillapod. Can't remember whether I needed the hole reducer gizmo or if I did, whether it came with the head or the Gorillapod. I may even have had one "in stock".

I did get an adapter with it. More like a step up than step down, goes over the standard screw. I guess one or the other will do the trick? So long as i dont lose the teensy thing!

I put little odds and sods like that into labelled film canisters then in a drawer. Still have problems finding the little illegitimates when I need them but at least I know they're somewhere safe!
