steve

I've got a Q strap brought through this forum and it's very good with my gripped D7000 and 70-200 f2.8.

Another Vote for Q strap here. Brilliant service too. Using mine on a gripped D200 and a 70-300 Sigma.

I would avoid the q-strap like the plague having had two fall apart on me, no camera damage but that was luck rather than judgement. The newer one I had also felt much cheaper than the older model.

I used to use BR; I now use Carry Speed. Primarily because I like their folding plate as it's compatible w/ my Spider Holsters and Arca heads. I can put a plate on a body and pretty much never remove it whether using holster/strap/tripod.

Black Rapid RS-7, had it since the start of the summer and found it to be extremely comfortable carrying a 5d2 with Canon 70-200 2.8 attached for hours at a time. Replaced my Optech neck strap which I liked, but the BR system seems so much better.

I used the black rapid double strap extensively for weddings and events up until a few months ago. The reason I stopped (or was forced ) into stopping was quite a major one.
I was using it with two d700 bodies one with 24-70 2.8 and the other with 70-200 2.8 both with flashes attached. Now all was fine until the flashes started misfiring earlier this year. Panic mode!! During a wedding this is not ideal.
The flashes were strobing and doing all sorts of weird things.
The reason? I found that because of being hung upside down the weight of the flashes forced the hotshoes slightly open thus the flash was not having proper contact. Fortunately I had a pair of pliers and bent them slightly back and since then I haven't had a problem because I've had to go back to single straps (Optech).
In short if you're not using your equipment with flash guns then use them as they are fantastic but if you are then beware.
I'm not sure if this is a Nikon only problem.
Hope this helps.

You don't want to go any where near the Q-straps mine just fell apart and could have cost me quite a bit in repairs.
Go with the black rapid they are worth paying the extra for.

I have a Q Strap, but my strap of preference is a Optech. I did not feel comfortable with the Q strap.

I used an Optech sling when I had a DSLR - it worked pretty well. I used to connect one connector to the right lug, and the other to the QR plate ring. Worked ok. Pretty cheap too.

I now have a Joby Ultrafit to use with my MFT kit. Still getting used to it. It seems to work OK, but can't say how it would cope with your heavier kit.

got to be the black rapid for me
copes comfortably with heavy kit

Hi all thanks for the info think I will go with the Black Rapid RS-7 as it seems to be a good strap and looks like most of you have that one.
Where is the best place to get one from
thanks
Steve
