Well I do enjoy camping out, caravaners imo should be banned from the roads between the hours of 0500hrs - 2200hrs :D

in seriousness though we enjoy a bit of camping, its cheap and cheerful, and makes no pretentions of grandure, its as rough and ready but we enjoy it,
 
Haven't been camping since I was about 5 that said I do fancy it this year

on a more serious note, no, but maybe sometime this year on an extended urbex trip

hmm imo its always that slow car infront of me that gives us towers a bad name !!!
 
Motorhome here, great bit of kit.
 
I've done a lot of camping, three month and six month trips under canvas. I find I get a much better nights sleep in a tent, especially if it's in remote location. With the right equipment winter camping is a lot of fun. I'm determined to get a few camping trips in this year.
 
A little bit here and there, usually next to a motor racing circuit. Used to have an old caravan, bought it to keep the beer cold but sold it when I upgraded the car.
 
We are into camping, been the last 3 yrs with friends, started with 2 families in one big tent, now its 3 familes in 3 tents set up with an admin area in the middle, great laughs!
 
We just sold our trailer tent in December after 8 years of great weekend breaks..luvvly memories.
 
Keen camper here, both the "only what you can carry" kind during walking weekends and the "car full of kit" kind to get away for a week or two with the missus.
After being inspired by some of siejones's shots from Snowdonia, I'd really like to give wild camping a go this year as well.
 
The other arf & myself love it (camping that is) :D Just load the car & go, 2 hrs later in the peaks, Edale usually. Cheap weekend with fresh air & brilliant views first thing in the morning just can't be beaten. :thumbs:

I have always loved camping and have fond memories as a boy camping or caravanning with my parents. Bought a motorhome many years ago when I was flying, brilliant bit of kit but difficult in tight situations. Sold that and returned to camping last year. We had two weeks of unbroken sunshine which is just as well because Mrs F doesn't rough it or do rain!!
For any scenic or astro togs I can recommend Kelling Heath in North Norfolk. Its one of the few places in the UK with very low light pollution and has regular 'star parties', its the first time I saw the Milky Way and Andromeda, stunning!

We bought our first caravan last year after having camped for several years before
am sooo loving the caravan was a bit hairy as hurracaine bills tail end caught the coast we had the van rocking but am sure that our tent would not have made it !!!
 
Used to camp, but then went to the dark side and got a caravan in '08.
Been great, had a load of weekends away last year and lots more planned for this year.
Nice to be able to sit in bed and watch tv :)

Luckily we can fit the caravan down the side of the house so dont have to pay for storage.
 


This is the view we normally have first thing in the morning on the site we usually use........Oh i think i can smell the barbie again:D

We have a nice caravan. It's good because we can take the doggies on hols with us.

I also camp (OH doesn't) if I fancy going somewhere and I usually take one of the dogs.

Maybe we should have a weekend camping meet somewhere.
 
Me and my mob have a caravan as well. Myself and the boys prefer camping, but the caravan keeps the peace all round. Had some cracking weekends at Wallasea Island last year and a rather damp, but hugely fun fortnight in Cornwall too.

I'm off to check when the half term holiday is now.........
 
we had a trailer tent for a couple of years
we then moved up to a folding camper for a few more years
we went to cornwall somerset and then to the dordogne region in france a couple of times
had some real good holidays then the kids got older and its all inclusive now nothing
my parents have just this summer got a folding caravan which is like something from carry on camping
 
We've done a fair amount of camping (backpacking and car camping) in SA, but I really don't fancy it in the UK at all. I'm not into cold/wet/windy weather and have dire memories of Scout camps as a teenager. Striking camp at the end of the week involved fighting sodden, flapping, canvas and swollen guy ropes and would have been good training for rounding Cape Horn in a windjammer!

I've never tried caravanning, and don't fancy having to tow the thing all the way.
 
We have at least one weeks holiday ands several weekends away under canvas... (or is it nylon now-days).

A TP camping weekend would be great.

I'll recommend a site in Wiltshire just up the road from Stone henge, unsuprisingly called Stone Henge Camp Site, at Orcheston. Had a cracking week thier last year and the owner does bacon butties delivered to your tent first thing in the morning. Anyone know the site?
 
I have motorhome and I love it! so much so that I've only had four weekends at home in the last five years ...... :cool:

I love camping, if i have to i use campsites but preffer to camp on wild :)
 
we started with tents then when we arrieved in Germany we bought a Trailer tent then got a newer one..then we got a caravan we went all over the place with them france holland beligum germany many places austria..but the fav was italy....

but sadley we had to leave it in Germany..

Used to go camping quite a bit. Hard to tow a caravan behind a 'bike and most of the camping trips involved 'bike rallies, often in winter. Too old and creaky now to do it and be comfortable and hate caravans so much (spent too many hours behind the bloody things!) that I wouldn't dream of having one. Could be tempted by a decent size camper van but won't pay what people seem to think they're worth. Besides, the fuel to get where I would want to go would be more expensive than flights, hotels and car-hire.
 
We've caravanned for at least 12yrs now. Brilliant way of spending quality family time together. Been going over to France for 3 weeks every summer for the last 5 yrs.
Its the one thing that has kept me in touch with my family whilst working on building the business over the years.
