just been down to aldi with the wife shopping ,and this weeks offers contain large rolls of gorilla camouflage tape for £4.99 ,ideal for wildlife toggers that want to cover tripod legs or gimbals etc

Problem with the Aldi duct tapes I've had is that you never realy know whether it will come off cleanly until it's too late. I do like to protect my gear and lapotp withe black stuff but I'm always left with enagging doubt that there will be a hard to shirt residue somewhere down the line. Is the Gorilla stuff known to be good in this respect?

From the Gorilla Glue site's FAQ'a in answer to "Can Gorilla Tape be removed?"... "Gorilla Tape can be removed, but with some difficulty and it may leave some residue. To remove any excess residue, we recommend using the tape itself as a blotter."

IME, DUCT tape (as opposed to GAFFA tape) sticks like pooh to a blanket. Not used Gorilla tape itself but am a duct (and gaffa) tape user and reckon the above is about right!

Duck tape isn't meant to come off easily. Gaffer tape is.

Isopropyl alcohol will remove most sticky crap without leaving residue or damaging metal or plastic. Buy it from your chemist.
