Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I want to give credit for great service.
I have purchased several items from Camerworld in Chelmsford Essex, and just wish to thank the staff for fantastic service. I believe the two members of staff I delt with are Nick and James, who are both very helpfull, especially as when I'm buying gear I like to take my time and ask every question under the sun. This is how service used be in camera shops years ago.
If you are reading this lads, thank you.

I second that - I have recently used the one near Oxford Circus in London and was really impressed with the service.

(also, I think this goes in the shopping bit)

:agree: I bought my D700 from the Chelmsford store. Great service.

Definitely agree about the level of service. Good, old-fashioned talking to the customer. Only problem is that they're not open on Sundays. Wanted a monopod and had to buy it from their main rival.

They are really good in there all of my camera gear has come from there and so has my Dads and I will being using them again as and when I want more camera gear.

I agree, I've used the Chelmsford one in the past, I asked for something they didn't have in stock and they said they could get hold of it for me within a few days, good service too!

i got a bag from the chelmsford store a little while back and they said any problems with fitting my kit in it etc then just bring it back and choose another
very helpful

Useful information , I do see their ads in magazines but not used them so far.
It is great that others can share their experience good or bad and we can all see the testimonials here.
So many suppliers of all goods today are "box shifters".
They have little knowledge of the product they are selling.:cuckoo:

Well done Cameraworld.

I've looked in the window a couple of times but never gone in :p It's the one in one of the 'shopping mall' type places isn't it? Or am I thinking of the wrong shop :p

Thats the one George, at the top end of the mall near the entance doors.

Bought two 50d bodies from them - best UK price at the time... Quick and efficient...

I am not so happy opened a pack to look at the product within and was asked to leave it alone. And almost directed to the door.
Have bought from them before but will not go in again.

Ordered a scanner via the website on the 19th, Monday morning I got a phone call to say it's out of stock which I thought was quite efficient. I asked for the order to be canceled, all well and good you say, but today I find I've been charged for it anyway. Phoned them up to ask wtf they are playing at (nicely) and the guy says, "the website will do that unfortunately", he goes away to check and says we've refunded your money but it will take a few days to come through.

The company may well be helpful, I certainly had no complaints on that score, but be aware that the website carries no stock level information. Whether or not they have the item you want you will be charged for it and that is not acceptable business practice. Luckily for me I'd not ordered one elsewhere or my account would be down by twice the amount.

Digital Photographer mag arrived yesterday. There is an article on 2nd hand kit and they list Cameraworld among the top ten best places to buy from.

they do usually have a good selection of used equipment in there window

I think you will get that no matter which shop it was , if you need to see the item in the box then asking staff would have probably helped.

Look at it another way, would YOU buy something from a shop with an OPENED box???

Not used this shop as living in Guernsey, but you cannot beat good customer service. My local camera shop is like this, very helpful no matter how stupid the question.
