Hi,
just got back into photography, but turned to the dark side and went digital,
so i have a few old film cameras gathering dust.
I have a pentax p30, p30t, ME super and a manky old mirande MS-1, i also have a few lenses, ensinor 1:5.5 f-80_200,vivitar 1:4.5-5.6 mc macro focusing zoom,miranda 50mm 1;2, overly huge sirus1:4.0-5.6 f 60-300, pentax a 1:3.5-4.5 28-80, sirus mc 1:3.5-4.5 f28-70, smc pentax-a 1:4-5.6 35-80, smc pentax-a 1:1.7 50, a haminex pro 550 flash with under camera brackety thing, a dusty mirage 500 flash, a leningrad 7 light meter and various lens brackets for fixing a few filters and things on.
I,m quite fond of my p30 as it was my first camera but i dont want to see them lieing around not getting used, it seems a shame.
I dont think they are worth very much and ebay isnt my sort of thing SO does anyone have any ideas as to what i should do with them,

It stands for "Not Suitable For Work" Dave, so the kind of thing that you wouldn't want to look at on a monitored system (or if your mother was looking over your shoulder ;)).
 
it's now safe, everyone... no 3 button suits with fur accessories in this thread ;)

That's a lot of stuff, but most is quite low value. Most of it will shift on eBay, and that probably has the biggest market for it (don't worry, I abhor it as well) - but if you don't want to do that, your options are reduced to either doing what Steve suggests, or maybe offering it on TP Classifieds I guess.

Depending on condition, the most desirable bits of kit (relatively!) will be to pair the ME Super and the 50mm f/1.7. ME Supers have their fair share of problems though, which yours may also suffer from.

I would then keep one P30 and the Pentax A 28-80mm f/3.5-4.5 as a general snapshot/sentimental value camera, to run film through occasionally, and try and get rid of the rest if it is of no interest to you.

The brackets and filters may still be of use with your Canon DSLR setup. Careful with the older flashes - they will have limited compatibility, but more importantly, may have high voltages that you don't want to put through your camera.

There's probably £70-£100 worth of stuff there depending on what it's all like
Best items are the 50mm lenses, esp. the Pentax-A f/1.7. I've put the (theoretically) best stuff on top of the list for you. You could donate it to a local college, us needy forumites :D or whack it on the classified section for someone to buy

Failing that get a nice pentax-eos adapter for you 600D and use the lenses on that :)

or get back into film photography of course! :naughty:

I had an air portable s3 once, S Parker V6, still had its original 2 1/4 dif which meant top speed was 75, but hells teeth it got there fast.....dangerous chuffer that was...lol

swapped it for a v8 Hi-Lux, which was worse still

thank God petrol went thru the roof...:lol:
