Thats interesting, how did find the course I'm looking to see if our local uni runs one. Regarding size and weight, it's not too much of a concern since I retired.
I don't need to pack small and light anymore, however I will check out your suggestion's thanks.

I googled photography course by me and luckily there was a course at the local arts complex run by a uni lecture/ photographer. He ran a 10 wk beginner, 10 wk intermediary and 10 wk advanced session last year. £100 each. It was really good. We are now working with him and the local authority on some projects with the chamber of commerce for the archives.

That is my main reason I changed to Panasonic M43
It is small and light for what it does, and makes the day a lot more enjoyable having much less weight to carry.

To be honest I thought I knew what I wanted but this forum has been very helpful regarding different choices. Once I find something that works, I stick with it and don't bother to keep up with the latest and greatest.

I am going to go to as many camera retailers to check out all the suggestions once I have drawn up a shortlist.

Can you give me a link please I have googled M43 and can only find

M43 = Micro Four Thirds = m 4/3 = M4/3

I have all Panasonic, the latest two being the G9 and GX9. Probably the oldest one really worth trying is the G3.
I don't like the ones without a viewfinder.
