Camera Repairs

After being clumsy and dropping my Canon 17-40 in the sand at Sandwood Bay. :bonk::bonk::bonk: This is going to be a complex repair as the lens is going to have to be strip right downa nd all the mechanics cleaned out.

Anyway I found these guys http://www.camerarepairdirect.co.uk and they seem to be the cheapest to carry out the lens clean. Has anyone used them? If so what was their service like?

In the past I've used fixation to service my 17-40 and was happy with the service.

Never heard off CRD so can't comment on them but i have used Colchester camera repairs in the past and can recommend them

Thanks all. Cost is a big issue with getting the lens repaired. I've not got a quote from fixation, but they do seem competitive, having looked at their website.

I've had a quote from Colchester Camera Repairs and they are competitive and my 2nd choice.

I'll try out camera repair direct and see what happens.
