Can you guys give me the names of some recommended camera repairers please. I sent my Voigtlander Bessamatic to Miles Whitehead and after 3 months he got back to me to say that he didn't have the parts to repair it and would send it back, so now I need to find someone who can repair it.

That's my first initial suggestion gone - sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Miles, it must be an uncommon camera for a repairer to do. What exactly is broken with it? Parts might be very difficult for some problems.

If the parts are difficult to get perhaps purchasing a donor camera is required. Mind you it shouldn't have taken 3 months for him to tell you that he couldn't get the parts...
 
Its actually the shutter that apparently needs replacing as it has an intermittent sticking fault.
This is what Miles said

I have been searching through my scrap bins as I was sure
that I had a Bessamatic that I could salvage the parts from,
however I do not appear to have one now, because of this
I will have to return the camera to you, the shutter works but
is not consistent.
Again I am sorry it has taken this time to come to this conclusion
but without replacement parts I am not able to complete a lasting
repair."

I shall give Newton Ellis a bell to see if they can help. Trouble with a donor body is that if they're cheap its usually because the shutter is knackered and if it isn't then they ain't cheap.

Yep, I've got a few I'm watching on evil bay but its annoying because I sent the original off for a CLA before I even used it..... There's one at SRS Microsystems with a lens for £99 but I don't know anything about them, anyone used them? Actually I've just read a series of reviews saying how wonderful they are so I shall bump them to the top of the list I think.

I have bought a new camera from them, a G3 for my father in law. Nice people and generally helpful. Give them a ring and have a chat about the camera.

If I can't get this one repaired I definitely will phone them, they seem to get universally good reviews.
