Hi all, last year I manged to put my Nikon D610 in my rucksack but failed to zip the bag up resulting in me swinging the rucksack onto my shoulder and the camera dropping to the floor. I was out shooting the Milky Way last week using a 14mm lens @ F2.8 and noticed the right hand side of the frame is far less sharp than the rest image. I put on another lens and the results wide open were the same. The blurring is far less apparent at higher F stops. The camera obviously needs to be sorted so where would be the best place to send it? There is no warranty on the camera.

I also used Fixation recently but it can work out quite pricey depending on what's wrong.

I'm guessing that the sensor is misaligned but that is only my opinion.
Don't you have any kind of insurance? a D610 is an expensive camera to not.

A couple of months ago I had the sensor replaced on my D610, the repair cost £750.

:eek::eek::eek:

Paul @minnnt used Lehmans for his D750, although tbh I don't think he was overly impressed. Hopefully if it's just an alignment issue it won't need replacing as £750 is not a cheap repair bill :(

I do have accidental cover on the home contents insurance it does cover some items away from home. I'll have a look tonight. Never having claimed on my contents insurance would I contact the insurance company first or send the camera off to be looked at and if the quote was too high then claim if I'm covered?
Different companies have different policies. Some require 'immediate' notification of a potential claim, some don't. Might be worth ringing and asking?

I would give them a heads up first.
