Mods please move if in the wrong place :)

The fella has a Ricoh R4 that has lost its focus capabilities. Its out of warranty, so do we still send it back to Ricoh and be prepared to cough up some serious cash? Or do we have any other options?

Bin it, you can buy the R7 now for £140, you'll pay half that minimum to have someone look at the R4.
 
There might be some little independent outfit you could send it to and a ricoh dealer might be able to point you at one. Steep's right that it's probably not going to be worth the money it will cost.

perhaps a nice shiny new camera would be a lovely pressie for you to buy him. :)

Might have to look at a new one then :)
 
sigma's going rate for repairing a lens is £75 so I would think a camera would be the same if not more
