Camera RAW Won't Update In Lightroom - Ideas

Anyone come across this and got any ideas?

I've tried to update Camera Raw in Lightroom 3.6 but I can't get it to update. I am stck on ACR 6.6 and I need 6.7

I run the updater in LR and it tells me it is already upto date.

I run the standalone installer from Adobe and it tells me that it has updated ACR but LR is still only at 6.6, all other apps apear to have upgraded to 6.7.

I've uninstalled LR and reinstalled but still the same.

I have an absolute shed load of images I can't view in LR because ACR won't update.

Assuming your images are from one of the new offerings from Canon/Nikon. You need to either update to LR 4.x or convert to DNG
 
Adobe update the camera raw processing engine in Lightroom by releasing a nwer version of Lightroom, such as going from Lightroom 3.4 to 3.5 to 3.6 etc.

Unlike Photoshop there is no ACR module update, the processing engine is too hard wired into Lightrooms' make up.

If you need ACR 6.7 and beyond you need to update to Lightroom 4. The processing engine has had a complete remake from the ground up, with new adaptive algorithms and changes to the way it operates.
 
Thanks all. I must have got my wires crossed somewhere along the line.

I thought ACR 6.7 was the update for CS5.x products and the LR 3.x line.

I had updated all the other CS5.x products but was surprised that LR only upgraded to ACR 6.6.

Time for an upgrade then I guess :)
