I have PS CC 2015 on my Windows computer and am unable to open my raw files in it even though I have installed CR 9.1 as advised.
I have the same setup on a Windows 8.1 and have no problem after installing CR 9.1.
Why should this be?
 
Which version of Windows? What happens - Nothing? Error code? Crash? The choose default application list popping up?

Need more information dude!
 
Sorry Windows 7 and I'm told I need to install CR 9.1 which I have done and then it repeats this advice when I try again and as I said I have no problem on a W 8.1 computer after installing CR 9.1.
 
I had exactly the same problem so I ditched PS and bought Elements 13 instead.

That's on my W7 desktop and now I can open RAW files and do a bit of PP. Elements is no Photoshop though ;( When I came to install 13 on my 8.1 lappie it wouldn't work so I'm dreading the upgrade (on both) to W10
 
Thanks Philip -- I have Elements 13 and can open Raw files in it but since I have also PS CC it seems a pity not to be able to open Raw files in it. It's incredible that Adobe doesn't provide the most recent version of CR with its much lauded PS CC 2015!
 
You can update ACR from within Photoshop CC or you can download the ACR update as a stand alone executable file which can be found on the Adobe web site. I always use the latter method and I have never experienced any problems either with Windows 7 or 8.1. If you have not tried this it might be worth giving it a shot.
