Hi,
This months Digital Camera has a tutorial about camera raw 4.1. I have downloaded it and installed it as it tells you to on the website. My query is this........the mag says it's compatable with Elements 5, but the website doesn't. I'm not getting on my screen all the icons in Camera raw that the magazine shows.......so does this mean that it is'nt compatable after all?

Thanks

i'm also getting the same window as you in elements 5, which is not the same as i get in CS3 being the RAW 4.1, i read the same as you in the digital camera magazine so not sure whats going on here

Photostar - not sure if this is right, but seems to me that when I open a RAw image, whilst having Elements 5 open, up pops 4.1. - there is no sign of it having been downloaded or recognised by my pc, but give it a try - for what it is worth, I open picasa, select a RAw image, and then choose to open it with Elements, and there it is..
Give it a go - I am a pc plonker, so am not sure if there are other ways, but this seemed to work today when I tried...

Just tried it and yes, I do get camera Raw 4.1 but I don't get all the icons/options shown in Digital camera magazine. I just don't understand why not.

exactly the same for me

It does say in the mag somewhere (I was reading it last night, I'll dig the relevant bit out shortly), that when in Elements, you dont get all the same options (Some are missing).

Page 76, the dark grey box entitled Elements versus CS3

...snip...As you'd expect from a budget package, the Elements version has less bells and whistles than the CS version, but the most useful tools in the Basic and Detail panels are present and correct. You can correct colour and tonal problems with ease as well as sharpen shots and reduce noise...snip...
