Camera posers

Some old fella was referring to me as a flash git today, just because I was using a camera with a stickie out lens rather than an iPhone - if only he could see my embarrassing phone :D

Tomorrow I'm off into Jessops to ask them to show me some 'stickie out' lenses. I'll try to keep a straight face.

I could understand it when we used film, but with digital there is no excuse for not using the kit.

I have enough decent Canon gear but I dont carry all on the off chance I might take a shot. I carried 1 5D3 with 24-105mm lens and it was enough.

So when will we get to see some of your work Dave  ;)

Last weekend I attended the Abergevenny food festival, and was a little dismayed to see 3 people wandering around each with at least 2/3 Pro canon camers around their necks, not once were they seen to take any photos, in4 hours whilst I was there.
They were hoping to catch a glimpse of a particularly rare scone.
You don't know which lens you'll need, the scone could be right infront of you or surrounded by Women's Institute members : hence three bodies.
Just because you didn't see them photograph the scone doesn't mean they didn't find it just as you left ...
Frenzy of flashes and the deed is done!

I think I may have eaten it before they got there. :naughty:

The lesser whelked laver-scone?

Pretty bloody fab'las that is!

Queuing to see Santa in September is ridiculous imo. Let's leave xmas to nearer xmas.

I did it last year at a local mop fair near Christmas, was there for about 4 hours too. I took 20 shots, and they were of my kids.

It was near Xmas on that occasion, they have about 4 per year near me.

What a pointless thread. (Bit like my life really.)
Awwwwww :'(

I had the latest pro gear 0nce, and wore it around my neck for any photo opportunity that I may come across. Now it's a 20D and a Tamron...

And I'm sure a non photographer might refer to you as a flash git too, as I was (although after looking up what a 20D is .... ;))

Seems as though I might have hit a bit of a nerve starting this thread, just to explain, the 3 individuals 2 men and a women, walked around with at least 2 cameras each ( 1 with 3 cameras), there were many photo opps, but members of my party and myself who were there for the food, did not see any photos being taken by the trio at any time during the 4 hours we were there. They just seemed to be wearing very expensive necklaces.
As regards my photos, maybe i will show you some one day, when I can work out where the batteries go !!!!!!!

Dont worry about it David. This forum s about sharing photos and learning from experience, not simply dissing people (although, that can be fun too :D)

It's very possible that they had taken the relevant photos before you got there, possibly before the gates opened to the public and they might have still been there waiting for a celebrity guest. Who knows?
