I often drive around The New Forest and many other places looking for a shooting opportunity and leave my camera on the back seat of the car "ready to go".

I have purchased a "Car Tidy" from Amazon that was designed for kids "junk" and found that it will hold a 5D3/7D2 with a EF 100-400 MK II attached in relative safety as it will not roll or slide off the seat, for £12.99 I think it is value for money.

Item can be found at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01GV6YG1K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope this of use to someone.

Seems a good idea, I have this issue with camera(s) on passenger seat and more than once it has all shot into the footwell.

Forgot to mention that there is a flap on the back that can slide down the back of the seat to hold it in place.

I either hang my camera from the headrest using the strap, or put it in the footwell in the first place.

Lens down in a cup holder works in some cars. On holiday, I usually have the bag on the rear seat(s) so I can grab whichever lens I want (using the Fujis, I have 3 bodies, each with a zoom attached.)

Ditto, Q-strap over the headrest prevents any nasty shocks.

Normally stick the passenger seat belt over mine and thread it through the strap for good measure. I still have a small 7D-shaped dent in my dashboard from the time I had to do an emergency stop before I started securing it all. :D
