Or, more specific, should I check in my spare lithium cells or take them as hand luggage?

Doing some googling gives conflicting info! And it's a while since I have been on a plane with my camera gear.

I was intending taking my DSLR as carry on luggage along with my spare batteries.................but should I?

Airline is Iberia and Easyjet if that helps.............

Thanks.
Oddly, most advice says to take them as hand luggage rather than check them into the hold-On the basis if they burst into flames, they are easy to deal with. Never had one "burst" into flames, so not sure why it should on a plane ( I keep those plastic terminal covers on the spare batteries, rather than let them rattle around my spares coins)

Just flew to Tiree with Easyjet and Flybe with all camera gear as hand luggage.

2 bodies with batteries in plus 2 spares and not a single query!

Cheers chaps. Two nikon enel 4's and enel 3's going in the hand luggage with the camera gear.
