Can anyone recommend a good insurance company as so many out there and would prefer someone's recommendation. Thanks

Interested in this too, any experience with actually claiming from one of these services would be fantastic too!

Depends on what you need. If it's non-commercial, check your household insurance as this often covers you, even on holiday.

Comes up on here regularly. I would suggest a search and read a few threads. Whatever you do, don't use E & L.
Now you will have to search, to find out why. ;):D

Kev.

I currently use Photoguard, but have never had to claim so not sure how good they are in that regard!

They paid out for repairs on a dropped lens without a fuss. I just filled out their forms, sent it all off, and sent my lens to fixation. Photoguard paid fixation directly and I had my lens back a week later.

great to hear. I'm also with photoguard.

(still need to fill out my camera/lens serial number, kept forgetting that)

As wuyanxu says its good to know they're fairly easy to deal with! Do need to remember to update my policy though to reflect some recent lens purchases!!

Thank you all for the help I will do some searches and some reading up on the weekend on some of them.

I've just put my kit onto my household policy with Tesco. To cover me at home and out for loss or damage was an extra £50, with a £50 excess. That was for an agreed amount and like for like replacement for those items now not available new.

CLIIK do a well priced package.
