Camera Insurance for Travelling.

I'm looking at separate insurance for my camera/lenses/kit for when I go travelling.

I'll be travelling in SE Asia for 4 months or so. Have a 550D, 10-22, 50mm F1.4 and camera bag/tripod etc. I'll be starting the trip in Korea and working my way back to the UK. Need to get a policy which allows me to start outside the UK, is this possible?

I've read a few threads on here and seen some good companies suggested. I don't live in the UK at the moment so can't add it to my home insurance as I don't have any. I'll get a basic travel insurance policy, but the single item limits I've found are only about 500 quid in total.

My question is, "What should I do?" :)

Any thoughts?
 
If you have home insurance I'd add the camera to that - 'Unspecified personal affects'

I called Photoguard, but they can't cover a policy which starts outside the UK which my trip will.
Glover and Howe will cover a trip starting outside the UK for up to 60 days in duration as long as you have a UK address/residency.
In the end, I added the camera and lenses as seperate additional items on my travel insurance as they'd give me up to £1500 which just about covers my current kit!
 
Good to know you've got it sorted, hope you have a good trip.
 
world nomads can do a complete travel package for you, they've been recommended to me for my holiday this year

Asim, that is who I used in the end.
Bit expensive, but covered everything I need.
 
Wish I had seen this earlier, I can recommend Photoguard for world travel camera insurance. They are paying out for my D7000 that got killed during the water festival in Myanmar.

EDIT: just seen your post about them not being able to start outside the UK, ignore me!
 
No problem, Jacob.
I would have used them as well, but there was no way round not starting in the UK.
