Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good flash bracket, with a budget of around £40-50. I have seen this by Walimex, which seems to be similar to the lastolite 2408 at a cheaper price.

I have the Lastolite version, though I've modified it quite a bit. One problem is that when the camera is turned vertical the shutter release is at the bottom, which is awkward. You can get around this if you have an L-bracket and fit an Arca-swiss clamp, as I have done.

Thanks for that, don't really want to start modifying if I'm going to spend that much.

I've just seen a video on you tube for a stroboframe pro. Is anyone familiar with this brand and does anyone know if it can be purchased in the UK?

Hi, If you look at your other thread on exactly the same subject you'll see I left a recommendation for you. Hope this helps.

Thank you, will check now. Wasn't too sure which forum was the correct one.

Hi Richard,

Any chance of a picture to see your modification, as probably will be going with this bracket.

Thanks

It's not really relevant to anyone else. Basically I only have the handle and extending bit left, with Arca-Swiss conversion on a DIY arm, flipping function disabled, and extra bracket on the top to carry multiple guns and small softbox. It works wonderfully well, but very heavy and unwieldy, and TBH I just don't have time right now. Sorry.

The point with my previous post was really just to mention the problem/solution to the vertical flipping function, if you're using Arca-Swiss and have an L-bracket. Put the platform in the vertical position with AS clamp fitted, then attach the camera to the vertical end of the L-bracket and it will flip to put the shutter release at the top.
