Faulty things seem to be following me around atm! Recently had an 18-135 canon lens from canon elstree as a repair to my previous one was taking far to long to get fixed. The replacement lens develops a fault, causing error 01 I think it was, no connection betweeen camera and lens on my 7dmk2. It also had moments of refusing to focus. So I sent it back to them, days go by, I ring up, we need your 7dmk2 to get the error reports! Why they didn't tell me to do so in the first place to send it with it, I don't know. I had to ring them for them to tell me they wanted it! Left you a message on the 18th!, Nothing on either phone, and no emails...

Anyway I box it up, it will get sent on tuesday thanks to bank holiday.

My dad kindly lends me his 80d, and what should happen today, 17-55, sigma 105 and 150-600 all have moments where they will not focus! The focus wont even budge! Switch off, battery out to sort it!

You couldn't make it up could you! Frustrated and rather pigged off!

I also had one heck of an electric shock of my lawn mower a few days ago after it blew.

Bit of a rant, but I just don't get it!

You've cleaned the electrical contacts on the camera and lenses?

That made me smile. So today the 17_55 behaves but my 105 and 150-600mm still having issues! Intermittent though, 105 worked to start of with and then just decided not to work, 150-600 did the same, refuses to focus now.

Probably a long shot but any firmware updates done on either camera recently. Nikon recently updated some camera firmwares and sigma lenses stopped playing nicely (AF issues) after the updates.

Weird how the problem is occurring across two cameras and several lenses.

Dare I say you should have gone with Nikon instead
Yep Nikon never have issues do they (apart from nearly every recent camera release!!)

I must be lucky then with no issues on any of my Nikons from the D70s to d200 to d300 to d800 to d810 upgrade yes but original issues no. The last three I still have

Problems can occur in any camera. Nikon have had quite a few recalls with the D600 and D750, even the D810 had one affecting some cameras.

The Nikon’s I’ve had have been relatively trouble free but I’ve known others with the same models to have issues. The majority of cameras will be trouble free from any manufacturer but there will always be some issues affecting some.
