Camera Canon DSLR D500, How much are they worth?
Are they a good camera for action shots?

Donna,do you mean the 500D,if so its not a bad camera but nowhere near the 6D you had but still a nice camera.

Once you get the name right you could check the specs and see if it fits your criteria. You could also look to see how much they go for.
Id never buy anything like this without doing proper research.

I used to have 500D.

It only has 1 cross type phase detection point, 9 points in total, which isn't very good for action. Drive speed is only 3fps which is pretty pathetic for action too.
My use case was family photography, i.e. young and fast moving kids.
I upgraded to 50D eventually and it was miles better (all 9 cross points, 6fps), even though the model is much older and doesn't have bells and whistles like video.

In short, no I wouldn't recommend for action.

For action shots, I won't recommend Canon D500. But if you want to use camera as beginner then it is nice choice and preferable.
