Hi
I am currently using sony nex 6 for landscapes and outdoor photography such as news and reportage. Recently I started doing indoor sports (track cycling and similar) and i lack good fast focus, high iso performance, and megapixels for cropping. Therefore i thought i would upgrade to sony a6300, which is very nice. However, i find the selection of lenses for such type of photography extremely poor, and VERY expensive. For this reason i am considering a switch to Canon/Nikon/Pentax dslr so that i could use a third party (sigma/tamron) 70-200 f2.8 lenses.
My problem is i dont know much about non-sony world, and dont want to invest in sony A mount cameras which i think are dying.
Could you please recommend a camera to me, which would fill my requirements (fast reliable af, min24mp, good high iso performance) at under £500 second hand?

Thanks

Nikon D3? But it hasn't got 24mp.

Canon 6D, but you will have to up your budget

I think your specs are awry.
The worlds top sports photographers were shooting awesome work before they had 24mpix.

Any old pro sports DSLR will do, I think a 1dIII would be in budget or a Nikon D3. Certainly both better than any 24mpix cameras within your budget by a million miles.

Yep, I'd agree with others, big old pro-DSLR with a battered old 70-200 will still deliver the goods. A D3 is great for this.

1d mk 3. I have one and they are great if you look past the low resolution.

At your price, you are looking at either the D3 or the 1DMkIII - of those two, definitely the D3.

I agree. The extra couple of megapixels actually open you a lot more doors, since some places have the min set at 12 for submissions.
FF sensor vs funny crop is another.

I am not knocking the old Canon - I had owned it and it was absolutely fine except small files. I would even shoot mild action with 1DsII back in the day instead of 1DIII to get the megapixels. But if you have the Canon lens you have little choice.
