Hi guys, sorry if this is wasting time/space but I was hoping to get some advice/info.

I have an action cam that is powered by a 3.7v lipo battery, getting spare batteries seems to be a complete nightmare (especially in the UK) as the camera is now discontinued but I was contemplating making a custom battery to increase capacity (mAh) my run time, but this would also mean upping the voltage to 7.4v.

Obviously the camera is built and designed to use 3.7 volts but what issues/damage would it cause if I were to run the 7.4

Any help would be massively appreciated.

The battery size is really awkward. Its for a Rolleri Bullet HD Pro 2 and they run a slim stick battery that measures just 60x20x6mm and is only 1000 mAh. so sadly most options I've looked for don't come close in either dimensions.

If you double the voltage of the power supply, you are likely to get a lovely smoke signal creation device... for about 15 seconds perhaps followed by flames or more likely just dead electronics.

oh yes  over voltage fun & games to be had in a controlled environment.....................but not with everyday gear and homebrew solutions gone wrong! :(
