Hiya all,

Looking for a good website that sell mid-range camera bag pack for walking/hiking.

Regards,
Phil

Lowepro? But wherever you choose to look, prepared to be bewildered and overwhelmed.

Shimoda seem to target the outdoor photographer.
They are pretty high end though. As are FStop Gear, the Shimoda designer is ex-FStop Gear. Think Tank also do some high end outdoor focussed bags.

I have an FStop Gear Guru, and an Evoc Stage Capture 16, for when I am travelling lighter, but Evoc camera bags are tricky to get hold of in the UK.

Tenba seem to do some decent looking bags at a level below Shimoda/FStop/Think Tank.

Yes the Tenba Fulton range is very good value IMO. I have the 14L which (for me) is a good smallish, general size.

I used to use an Osprey Kamber. Bit big if you shoot M4/3 I guess, but a nice size of you want to carry snacks, flask, rain coat, etc too. I had a Pacsafe? insert. Really comfortable as the back is shaped etc rather than flat and it's Osprey.

I don't really use it anymore though as we don't really do bigger long day hikes anymore.....

Another recommendation for a hiking rucksack combined with a camera insert - I use an Osprey Stratos with a Tenba insert. I find it much more comfortable to wear with the curved harness and mesh back. Downside is not quite as quick to access your gear but improved comfort over traditional camera rucksacks with room for extras and not as expensive as the high end makes e.g Shimoda, F Stop etc

Are you looking for a dedicated camera rucksack or a general rucksack for hiking? If the later then Sports Direct currently have the Karrimor SF Sabre 45 listed on their website for £98 which is a bargain. It's not an ultralight rucksack but it is bomb proof.

I recently got a Tenba 14L one, they do a 20L one.

Another fan of Tenba bags, been using a 12l Solstice for years and fancied a change so recently bought a Tenba AXIS V2 20Ltr

I also recently purchased a Vanguard Veo Select 46BR Slim Backpack to have something a little smaller, but bigger than the 12l Solstice. Very nice bag with great padding.

I like this VEO Select 45M to fit my MacBook Pro in

I'm more than happy with my Vanguard. I looked at the 45M but I had already bought the Temba Axis....If you have a Prime account you can send it back within 30 days, if it isn't suitable for your needs.

I've got a Tenba Axis 20L, swallows up loads of gear and also just about fits within the easyjet "small carry on" criteria. I've done a few weekends away with it, as well as day hikes.
It won't take a 15/16" laptop though, not sure if that's a consideration you need.

Got a Tenba Solstice 24L but that was bought with a view to a gripped D500+80-400/5.6 lens. I think that would be too much, they do smaller variants but it is AFAIK purely a camera bag....

Think Tank BackLight Sprint. Compact size, rear opening, tripod/bottle carriers but large enough to carry a Sony FF body and a 200-600 lens attached, plus three more lenses.
