Morning,

Need a bit of help in figuring out what Camera Bag would be best suited for me.

Imminently due an upgrade to a 60D with 70-200 & 15-85 plus tripod.

My current Lowepro 160 AW won't hold these so need something a bit bigger.

What do people use at the moment, looking at the Slinghot 102, is there anything better for the price? (upto £60)

Is the 70-200 the f4 or f2.8 version?

Do you intend on being able to store the 70-200 in the bag attached to the 60d?

It won't fit attached - you'd need the slingshot 202 (f4).

If a 70-200 f2.8 you'd need the slingshot 302

I've had 3 Tamrac bags now and they've all been excellent. They're very well made, hold loads of gear and are very strong. Have a look here http://www.cambags.com/news.html and it'll give you some ideas of which is best for you.

Its the f4, I don't mind it not being attached. Will likely have the 15-85mm attached most of the time as my gen purpose lens.

modchild - Shall have a browse of Tamrac now, cheers

Just seen the Flipside 200, looks good enough for what I want and around the right price.

Tamrac didnt seem to have any with tripod holders

A Kata 3N1-30 will hold this amount of kit. It will take a 1D MkIII with a 70-200L 2.8 MKII mounted to be accessed from the side set up as a sling. With the straps set as a rucksack it will carry this gear plus a tripod comfortably.

I looked at that too. But liked the way you can take the camera compartment out of the sport and use it as a normal pack.

Mine is holding D7100 with 70-300 attached. 16-85, 50mm and sb400 flash all divided. I can move the dividers pretty easily to have what ever lens on and fit the others in.

My spare battery and cards and in the main compartment too with my black rapid in the side pocket and tripod the other side.

I've a Lowepro Nova 190 AW bag (different sizes available) and it'll very easily fit your kit in (except the tripod).

I've also the Mini trekker which again will swallow your gear and tripod without any problems - it's been upgraded now to the pro runner

My Flipside sport was great until i decided to buy a few more bits lol!

Selling it and have now got a Think Tank Streetwalker

I have learnt a very expensive lesson in relation to purchasing camera bags and as a result have quite a collection!!:bonk:

Don't assume that the next bag will be your last, trust me it won't. Buy the biggest bag you can afford and don't buy a bag to fit your current kit, you will outgrow it very, very quickly! :bang:

Lowepro Vertex 300 aw,
Lowepro Pro Runner 450 aw,
Tamrac Expedition 9x or a
Tamrac Ultra Pro 13 shoulder bag. If you want HUUUUUUUUGE then buy a Lowepro Pro Trekker 600aw  or a
Lowepro Super Trekker (out of production but regularly available on Fleabay).

All of the bags I have listed are above your budget but in the long term you will save lots of cash if you buy one of these sooner rather than later!

Good bags but giant! I've had the vertex 300 and whilst I loved the storage it had, I seldom took it out because it was massive and a tonne when nearly full. Also not quick for a lens change at all. It ended up being used for home storage in favour of smaller bags.

My eventual settle was a lowepro slingshot 302. It's a good size, can fit several lenses and has space for accessories with the ability to access your gear quickly. Plus a tripod holder too. Usually they're not too expensive either.
