I am wondering if there is a backpack of some sort that would fit my 50-500 and gripped 50d along with a mirrorless camera and a couple of lenses without being to big? Can anyone think of any suggestions?

Check out Lowepro's range. They'll have something, and the quality is second to none.

The Tamrac expeditions in various sizes may suit. I have the 6X which is not too large, but I can get my 5D2, 7D plus four or five lenses, flash, hoods and other odd and sods in there.

Flippin' heavy though when fully loaded.

I have an expedition 7 with my current kit in and I have problems even lifting it up, as I have problems with my arms. It's difficult to imagine which bag would do, I will have a good look around at focus, but I need some ideas of which ones before I go.

Ah I see your point. TBH any bag is going to get pretty hefty with the kit you want to take.

Do you need to carry all that kit everywhere. Could you split it and leave one bag containing the stuff you don't need immediately in say the car?

I'm hoping to have a nice small csc with 1, maybe 2 lesnes. So I wouldn't bother with my the rest of my kit. It's just when we go out on day trips and for when we go on holiday, a bag with just those in would be ideal. But not as cubersome as my exp 7.

I've got an Expedition 9x and when it's full it weighs a ton. I've got a bad back so I never use it when it's full, most of the time it's got my overflow bits and bobs in it. I ended up getting a Tamrac Super Pro 14 and it piggy backs onto a trolley so I can wheel it about. So much easier than lugging it around on my back and the trolley only cost around a tenner. There's quite a few other smaller bags that have the piggy back system as well.

Tamrac Expidition 6 user here too.

They are fab bags but heavy when loaded up!
For day trips I use a smaller Tamrac (3375 aero speedpack 75) and it got me round Canada just fine!

That looks a good bag, a pitty its a shoulder bag, I cant carry these anymore as they cause to much pain in my shoulders with any sort of decent weight in it.
