Yes
Am flying to the US with BA, but their website only mentions laptop bags as allowed in addition to personal bags- are camera bags allowed in the same vane?? (I have a lowepro 100 slingshot)

Damnit!!

EDIT: but if my personal bag is one of those messenger-type bag with a laptop in then I'm fine??

Hi
I work at heathrow airport, and you are allowed to take cameras as hand luggage, so long as the bag isn't too big they'll allow it.
Best to check with ba for hand luggage allowances as you can only normally take 1 per passenger.

Hope this helps

thanks Mike- so my lowepro would be my hand luggage, and the messenger bag with laptop would be the extra-allowed laptop bag?

Hi james, I think your only allowed one bag per person. I,ve got one of these which I can get laptop, 2 bodies, 3 lenses and associated stuff taken all over europe with no problems,

I got a lowepro 350 fastpack. Can carry my laptop , my camera and 4 lenses.

Last year I took that along with one of those rolling hand luggage bags and it was fine. Hope its ok again next week when I travel to the Philippine again. Just say your backpack has your laptop and camera. Should be ok

I think it depends on the airline. I know for sure Air Asia does not allow them.

allow a camera and laptop? in cathay pacific your allowed one piec eof hand luggage thats 7kg or under plus a handbag, camera or laptop in addition.

BA will allow two items of hand luggage, one main bag of max 56x45x25cm and a second bag (which could be a laptop bag, handbag etc) of max 45x36x20cm, with a maximum weight limit of 23kg. I don't think they care what type of bag it is, as long as it is within the dimensions.

I have flown BA in the past and took both a Lowepro Fastpack 350 backpack and Crumpler Muffin Top 7500 shoulder bag on board with no problems.
