Yes
Heading to Majorca later today for four days with some lifelong friends for our annual jolly boys trip.

Wasn't intending taking my camera as we are just taking hand luggage but was wondering could I just carry it over my shoulder leaving me a bit more space in my small case ??

Anyone been stopped from doing this ?

Yes me, If you are going cheap then only one bag, over your shoulder does not count and will be denied.

If you are going expensive then maybe OK.

Good luck.

It depends TOTALLY on the airline because they all have different carry-on policies. Some are very strict and insist that you can only carry on one bag. Some allow one bag, plus a "small" purse or laptop bag. Some allow a camera in addition to the bag(s), some don't. Some allow a bag of duty-free purchases in addition to your carry-on allowance; some insist that any duty-free purchases must be packed into your carry-on bag.

Check your airline's website.

Looks like the underpants and socks will have to go from the carry on case then lol

As above, depends who you are flying with. We have flew with easy jet and they allowed a hand luggage plus small/medium rug sack where I put my Camera, netbook and table.

I was going to just be nonchalant and take the camera over my shoulder without case etc so it's more inconspicuous and not make a fuss. They usually seem so busy with other fussy passengers but guess I could get it in the case if required.

Might even take the flight time to properly read the instructions on my iPad for the camera. Now that would be a radical step :-)

Just wear them all, along with 3 T shirts and 3 pairs of shorts, or get a coat with huge pockets.Went Ryanair this summer and at Manchester they were insisting that only the first 90 people could take their carry-on in the cabin, the rest had to go in the hold. Of course when we got on the plane there was plenty of space in the overhead lockers and a load of annoyed passengers who could have taken their bag on. Just seems like a policy designed to annoy the customers.

I went with Thompson and it was fine for me. Just had to take it out of the bag with everything else at security.

Problem solved. It fit in the case lol

Sat on the tarmac as I type. My friend is gutted as he didn't think he could bring his lol

Bit late to the conversation but I bought one of these (or something similar) a few years ago and found it great for carrying my camera kit, lenses, and laptop (plus a few other bits and pieces) around. One drawback, however, is that you have to be prepared to look a bit of a prat while wearing it.

Golly. That looks to be a great vest, backpack and on the go exercise routine all in one.

Another 'pratt' here, but it is practical. Better access and more comfortable than a 450 AW on your back too.

Yes, a 24-70 on a 5D2.

Inside the case...

2 5D3 bodies, 5 lenses and 4 flashes and about 30 batteries, filters and memory cards.

Security at Manchester was intense ,mind you thanks to a muppet of a daughter we did fly out on 9/11

I've been known to get on a plane with a 1D one 400 2.8 over one shoulder and another 1D with a 70-200 over the other, and a 20kg Pelli 1510 for the overhead locker.

In my experience they tend to ignore a camera over the shoulder.

I fly long haul often on Emirates - with a cabin baggage restriction of 7kg - but camera equipment in my carry-on case is always nearer 12-15kg - they never have any problem with the weight when they see what it is, and usually give me a second bag to put some of the less important items in to split the weight for the overhead lockers. Depends where you're going and who you're flying with :)

They let you stroll on with something that big!? And I can't help askingTobers which airline is so helpful?!

It was TAP and another local airline in Brazil. I did happen to have FIFA credentials on me which could have helped ;-)
