Edit My Images
No
SO - I still love photoshop for post processing but I import and catalog in Lightroom Classic - I sometimes do edit in Lightroom as well but I prefer doing by wildlife images in PS. I have notcied a problema and am looking for anyone that can help me solve it.
I export the image I want to edit from Lightroom to PS as a smart object layer. do all my processing and when I save the file it goes back to Lightroom into the folder from whence it came and gets stacked with the original raw file - all good.
HOWEVER!
When I view the tiff file in the Library module it looks different to when I view it in the Develop module.

In the develop module it looks exactly the same as the edited tiff file in PS - in the Library module it looks different (warmer)
If I export the file as a jpeg it looks like the tif file in PS.

So the problem is with viewing edited files in the Library module of Lightroom.

Any ideas why this would happen and could it be a bug?

All my adobe programs are up to date and I am not using any beta versions.

HELP!!!!!

Also - it's only happening on one image but its driving me mad not knowing why.......

It has been years since I used LR but do have my old PS still in use for a limited 'finishing'

However a random thought as you mentioned it is just the one image....

Could it be anything to do with how you saved the Tiff at some point i.e. have you previously saved as 8 bit but the troublesome file was saved as 16 bit???

I suspect it might be linked to you looking at a rendering of the TIFF in the develop module as you are in PS, based on the active edits, which isn't what you are doing in the library module.

The library module in LR is generating a "library" preview (of TIFFS, and Jpegs), which may need updated to match the edits made in the develop module. So in PS, the develop module, and exported the files should look the same, but not necessarily in the library module, until after the previews are updated.

I have vague memories of LR updating previews in a rather ad hoc fashion, but you should be able to manually force a preview update and see if this solves the problem. Smart Previews are updated as you edit them.

I only rarely use LR, but I seem to remember this being an issue.

Thanks for your help - deleting all the previews and redoing them didn't make any difference but I closed everything dow n and restarted everything then sent the tiff back to PS from Lightroom - it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the settings as it had been adjusted in another program (whatever that means) - doing that fixed it.
NOt sure what happened but
Thanks guys
