It certainly seems to be, the pics I've seen of it look as new,
Chris
Ask him if he's got another one!

As far as I was aware, this is the anti dust mechanism that kicks in every time you turn the camera on.
Thats what I thought... I can't hear the dust mechanism on my Nikon's cameras... really caught me off-guard and the first time I turned it on, I thought I had workman outside with a pneumatic drill....!
Seriously, please???!!!never noticed that on my A700.but when I turn on my A900 its make a rather obvious "rattle".. most folks seem to think this is normal - so guys when you turn on your Axxx do you find the camera makes a very obvious vibration / rattle sound as soon as its powered up?
should have got the 18-250, it's better than the 18-200 ...I'm not getting on with my 18-200mm as well as I did with my 55-200mm that I sold Chris not so long back.

I asked this question on DPReview...

Have just purchased a new A700. How do I check what version firmware it is?
Many thanks

Press Menu then Display - with camera switched on
Chris; Tried your way as I couldn't remember how to do it and it wouldn't work until I did menu then display. I think the menu/display buttons simultaniously is when the firmeware version is upgraded in camera - and you press them before turning on the camera![]()

Bought my A100 late last year off a friend (Member on here also)
Sony A100
18-70 kit lens
70-300 kit lens
Bag, spare battery, memory card.
Very happy with it, great starter camera.
Since then got a Minolta 50mm 1.7, Jessops 360AFD flash and a basic tripod.
Only started getting into it now, so will hopefully get some photos up soon![]()

First shot from my A900:
Not my finest hour, but I've barely learned to turn the thing on yet
Really like this camera - the resolution for landscape is pretty awesome!
I'm sure you will love it!
Where about was the photo taken? I know it's puffin season, but I've never seen one so closeMost people seem to use 600/4 for this kind of photography!
What bags are you all using with your cameras? Been tempted with with that sony one in the bargain section.
I got a small Lowepro case for mine when i know im only gonna take one lens but would like something to hold everything i got and more when i buy more. lol.
I'll get around to it yetThis is the bag, havent seen any internal pics yet so im not sure how its laid out.

Has anyone noticed that changing the Zone setting under Custom Styles also changes exposure, by at least 1/3rd of a stop?
Probably old new to you guys, but I find my A900 underexposes - setting zone to -1 gives around 1/3rd stop less shutter, therefore a 1/3rd stop brighter exposure.
