I did a complete wedding reception last August with just the on board flash on my A700. Two reasons why, the room/hall was pretty small and I was always close to the subject when taking a picture anyway. Second reason was that ...... the big flash I have was in my bag as an emergency if my 'experiment' didn't work with the on camera flash.

The photos came out really well I thought.

Thats good to know, dont think I will have the time get payed on friday and the party is sat!

Dumb question time why do flashguns have different fits?

No problem sir. Just one additional point, if you do use the onboard flash, make sure you don't use a lens hood. The flash is quite low and you will get shadows at the bottom of the picture!

Yes will make sure its off I found that out over xmas and the lens hood on the kit lens is only a silly little thing

Hey guys but has the cashback offer from sony expired? I thought the purchase had to be made between 1 November and 31 December 2008 to qualify for cashback.

Really? I best check what else is on the list haha got the flashgun and battery grip... Maybe a 2nd body?! No... Yes... Hmmm!

So whats the best price for the A200? Dont think its makes sense to have two a350 and the a300 isnt on cashback... is that right?

I would say that unless you do paid work having two cameras wouldnt be much use.

Thats what I think anyway.

a300 has £40 cash back

i would tend to agree with that, but having 2 set-ups can be the difference between getting "the shot",or not...on occasions.

i got the A700 as it's a body better suited to the area of photography i enjoy most...motorsport,especially motorcycling, but it's also better at handling higher ISO's/noise etc...i will keep the A350 as for what i would get for it 2nd hand...i'd rather not sell it.

Has it? Its not on the pdf list, I thought I would get the A300 depending on the price as it handles noise better than the A350 the A700 would be nice but out of my budget for a good few months.

check sony website and jessops website to find the pdf

otherwise instore the leaflets state a300 too

jacobsdigital have ramped up all prices. was going to buy a battery but it's gone up (mega up) oh well

Just been looking at the a300 and instead I might go for something more compact to replace my old DSC-P10 anyone know anything about the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300?

ramped up isnt the word the flashgun more than doubled in price :bat:

well you've got one, so not to worry ;-)

the grip has gone up in price too

Thats fair enough if you get an upgraded camera but getting two a300s or an a300 and a200 after that dont seem that much point to me, but like you say depends what you take photo's of something like motorsport you havent got the time to change a lens.

Pixmania do it as well, but it's much cheaper at Jessops. Never thought I'd be typing that!

Will it be in stock though, seems to me they put low prices and then you cant get what you want as its out of stock :bang:

I'm waiting on my A300 from Pixmania, was in stock when ordered but mucking about with finance and now its out of stock, guess I will just have to wait.
I don't think I will be eligible for the £40 cashback as Pixmania are not a UK store............

It's UK owned. Remember they're owned by DSGi, so hopefully that won't be an issue.

Forgot about that, well I might as well give it a go, £40 is better in my pocket than Sony's, I was more concerned about it being a grey import from Pixmania perhaps and not being eligible.
