My partner is after a Ninitendo Wii for her xmas present. As I dont want to disappoint, please could you Wii experts tell me what kit I will need to get in addition to the standard "box of tricks" to enable her to enjoy the Wii Fit package.

Thanks in advance for your help

get another controller, its almost essential for having good fun without having to pass the controller between each other all the time.

we got a wii about 2 months ago
we have the standard kit, an extra controller, Wii sports (the original one), Wii fit, monopoly, lego batman and some crappy game we havent played but it came free.

ive also heard that the component cable is well worth buying, as it really sharpens up the display and makes the colours pop over the standard composite cable.

You get Wii Sports included, but if anyone else wants to get you guys a game I can recommend Wii Sports Resort - linky that comes with Motion Plus to make the controller more sensitive. If you have two controllers you will need one extra motion plus.

Also worth noting that Wii Fit hates deep carpet (works by shifting weight around on legs) so if you have a deep shag :naughty: then grab yourself a mat.

Thanks Whitewash. Any recommendations as to where to buy? I'll have to look into the component cable (whatever that is )

Thanks for the tip Smoothedit. After playing Wii Fit, dont know if I will have the energy for a deep shag :D

The wii comes with sports, which is actually pretty good when you consider the simplicity of it. Then you get wii fit separately which will satisfy your minimum requirements.

However as has already been hinted another controller & nunchuck are really a big bonus if you want to play games together. You can get a secont controllor with the wii play package and a nunchuck is about £15

The two games me and my wife play most are mario kart and guitar hero...

I'll echo what everyone else has said about the extra remote / nunchuck... and also add - don't forget some kind of rechargeable batteries.

For the wii fit you can buy a plug in charger for a tenner.

Big brain academy [a sit down and rest brain training type thing] for after the christmas lunch.

under £8.00 on amazon.

I've seen a poster recently with wii, wii sports, wii sports resort and motion plus for about £180 IIRC it's a special offer

and doing things like pressups on the wiifit on laminate is 'entertaining' as well, not because it moves around (because it doesnt, its rock solid) but your feet do...!

we got ours from tescos about a month ago, we paid £179 for a wii (with wii sports) and 3 free games (monopoly which is ok, lego batman which we have yet to touch, and some big beach sports game which is tripe). we then bought another controller for £28. we also bought a wiifit. i want to get shaun whites snow boarding because aparently it uses the wii fit board as a snowboard which could be good fun.

my wii fit age is 21 (im 27), needless to say i havent been on it since it said that..!

Cannot disagree with this. Also if any friends have Mario Kart, they can bring their steering wheels round and 4 people can play together at once. Great on a 42" LCD with a couple of beers and munchies.

Stay away from her when she first gets it, MrsG punched me in the face playing tennis when trying it :'(

She claimed it was an accident:nono:
