Hello All

Im looking at getting an iPad in the next few months for my photography obviously. Im looking for all Pros and Cons with the iPad and mini review if possible.

Was it money well spent, ive seen a few good reviews around however that is based on Apple Fanatics!!!!

Im in love with my iPhone and havent regretted the £350 price tag for it however i wouldnt like to spend £429 for an iPad if they are not really worth the money.

I have seen this review on youtube,( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFtx9HzM-lE ) i think it points out some good Pros for photography with the iPad, as many of you have proberly already thought of using it as an electronic portfolio, however i also saw it as a good Video Slideshow package, instead of burning slideshows to disc like Proshow Gold etc... extract it as a 720p HD MP4 and play off the screen when meeting new clients.

Bit long winded i know but im sure with this full explanation the wonder people of TP will get where im coming from.

Many Thanks in advance
Dan

That video just about sums up what you can do on the iPad currently.

Compare the price to say the Epson Photo viewer device which doesn't allow for any kind of 'in device' editing as far as I know. The screen is also smaller.

I am excited about the idea of shooting tethered in the future

To summarise my photography reasoning for buying an iPad

1. Backup my photos on location
2. View them on the device to check exposure composition etc
3. Perform some simple editing using apps like Photoshop mobile
4. Upload straight from the iPad to flicker, Facebook, picas etc
5. Transfer photos onto pc when sync
6. Use as a handheld photo album/ digital photo frame when visiting relatives & friends

It is worth mentioning the camera connection kit is an extra at around £25. You can also get a VGA connector for it so you could output slide show to a projector for the same price

Plus a whole bunch of other cool stuff you can do on it!

Thanks for the info, i must admit some of those reasons were the same as mine however i didnt think of upload to facebook etc on demand.

Thanks for input one step closer to getting one now
