I have just registered an interest with flickr in adding a new feature to flickr - a quick copy and paste (IMG) tag section for VB Bulletin boards. Photobucket has it and I think its a good idea.

This is the link here - please click here and support it if you feel it would help

Basically I put the following:

Hi,

Not sure if this has been raised before, but the following would be absolutely perfect for me.

I, as do many other flickrites, use various other forums that I find incredibly interesting. Some are photography forums where I like to share my pictures with friends.

It would be AMAZING if, when clicking on ALL sizes, along with the relevant HTML linking there could be a linking also.

This would look something in the region of:

VB Bulletin Board users copy and paste this link:

[url= URL of main flickr page image][img ]<>[ /img](end of IMG tag)[/url ]end of URL tag.

An example of one of my pictures would be:

[ url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/hadesfoto/2181477918/][ img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2080/2181477918_0bcbcc4bd6_o.jpg[/img ][/url ]

This allows the user to simply copy and paste direct into the Forum, maintaining a link back to flickr - which I know is in the Community Guidelines but I also know isn't followed much!

Waddaya think? Would be brilliant if could do it!

Cheers

It would be so much easier copying and pasting from flickr rather than messing about with various size image URL's etc. For the purposes of this post I have put spaces in the URL and IMG tags.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

If you use Greasemonkey (free, and any self respecting Flickrite will find it brilliant), there is a free greasemonkey script for geenrating BBCodes here

if youhave Firefox, you can install Greasemonkey and the the Flickr Allsizes+ script which gies you MUCH enhenced functionality for copying links to various sizes of photos, all hyperlinking back to flickr to compy with their T&Cs - and obviously to enable you to post a thumbnail linking to mauch larger version

great minds and all that...

Cheers guys - I have used that tool within Firefox but I just wanted Flickr to provide the simple copy & paste for use with mobile devices etc - good stuff though

Yeah it would be nice if Flickr had it in there by default.

Maybe Flickr don't really want to act as a hosting site for pics as such?

Will defo increase their traffic considerably
