Circular polarising filters?
I've stumbled on a mention of this lens having focus problems with a cpl filter attached?
Is this true?

see thread below

http://forums.photographyreview.com...focus-problems-70-200-f4-polarizer-45351.html

an ebay seller selling Jacobs brand cpl filters also mentioned there would be problems if you used this filter on the EF 70-200 F4L also!!
i don't want to go spend £30 + on a filter if it'll turn a great lens into a lemon!!!

Nah, nonsense.

All longer lenses are particularly sensitive to low grade filters (focal length magnifies imperfections) and we've seen it often enough on here.

Cheap filters are usually a bad idea, and can be very bad on longer lenses.

I had HOYA Green CPL, at 70mm it will create heavy vignetting... Be aware of the cheap stuff ;)

Well mine is fine Hoya Pro1 came from Amazon no problems.

Ive got a Hoya Pro 1 polorizer and not had a problem on my Canon 70-200mm F4L, get yourself a top CPL, that lens deserves it!

had a Hoya Pro 1 67mm CPL, but sold it with my 17-85!! Doh!

Usually get good filters, made the cheapo mistake so never again! my other cpl's are;

62mm Sigma EX DG....brilliant filter
77mm Marumi super DHG...also brilliant
Got both the above second hand from ffordes around the £20-30 mark.
Can't afford new at the mo.
