Yes
Well, those who use hair clippers anyway.

Mine don't appear to be holding their charge any more so I'm in the market for a replacement. As I have an Amazon voucher burning a hole, I've had a look there but there are loads to choose from.

Anyone recommend any good ones, ones to avoid? Looking for cordless with a budget of up to £50.

:plusone: for corded Wahl. Mrs Nod used to be a hairdresser and that's what she had back then (25+ years ago). Still on the same machine, although the cutting blade pair has been replaced (very easy to do).

Another vote for Wahl

I've had them for myself (and dogs) & maintained properly, will last for years.

This.
Still cutting hair with 20+ year old Wahls.

Another one for Wahl. (y) (mine are corded too)

I only use mine now for the beard, I wet shave my bonce twice a week to save all the itchiness & sweeping up.

May the wisdom of fellow baldies descend upon you..............

Oh. I heard a lot a Wahling from this thread, keep the noise down baldies.

:exit:
*Frac shuffles off muttering to himself and shaking his head".............:p

BTW, I just did an amazon search for Wahl Hair Clippers [I think the ones he has are starting to blunt after 6 or 7 years and they were so cheap it might be worth just buying new] - am I the only one where that search, bottom of first page, brought up "ESPIRITU DE CANELA CINNAMON OIL MEN WOMEN HAIR LOSS BALDING REGROWTH TREATMENT"? :wideyed:

*Yv giggles knowing that shake isn't causing any ruffling of shiny locks*
Behave,shorty...........:D

Nope, came up for me too.

Personally I'd avoid the cheaper Wahl models and go for something like the Wahl super taper. You usually don't get as many accessories but the motor is far better. Price around £45 - 50 I guess.
I suspect mine is going to outlive me.

He only needs the #1 guard :D

Actually I used to use the #1 guard (well, Sue did) but one time she forgot to put it on. She'd already made the first pass before I spotted it.

I think a striped finish is a great look on ones head

I use Wahl corded and they are fine, but prefer my Remington Ceramic (cordless) clippers. Can be bought for around £30. I have used mine for years and still nice and sharp.

I nearl[y ended up with something similar once. She got half way when the battery went flat and we couldn't find the charger! I wouldn't have minded but we were going out for dinner that evening! Cue some intense and meticulous work with the scissors! :D

I've had mine (remington) 10yr and it still holds a bit of a charge.

I used to use clippers, but decided to change to shaving it with a razor, feels much better and I only do it once every week or so.

Cheers.

Yeah but at least my hair makes me look a good inch taller :D

Phew ;)

Brings you up to almost 5ft... :whistling:

Used to use them on my beard as a #2 cut to keep it vaguely neat (when I had long hair) but now get Mrs Nod to run over the whole head and face on a #1 every few weeks (when I can see I'm getting bed head!) Can't be doing with shaving it all - waste of time!!!

This one's in pole position at the moment, Looks like a good price if the "reduction" is correct.
That is a good price Marc.

Reviews don`t inspire confidence though.

TBF, one of the reviews is scathing because it doesn't come with the 0.5mm attachment (not something I'd need). I tend to take Amazon reviews with a pinch of salt. The negatives can easily be resolved by returning if true.

Is your current one the HC363?

aye H363C after a quick google

What sort of cells does it use? IIRC, NiMH and NiCads have a life of about 1000 cycles before they're knackered and it might be possible to simply replace the cells in the battery pack with new ones.
