Anybody used the cactus v4/v3 sets? I've just read a pretty good review for the new v5 but cant find a supplier with stock.
Price is on par with the rf-602 but they use AAA batteries which I have plenty of eneloops to suit.

Anybody got a view?

V5 is completely different and thought to be much better, but early days.

On the other hand, RF-602 works, are cheap, and a couple of batteries doesn't seem like a deal breaker. The original batteries supplied work for ages anyway.

No granted the batteries ain't the deal breaker, price is good, reviews are good and the look pretty good also.

U use V4's in the studio and outdoors and have never had problems with them. I've had them behind walls, round the corner from where I was shooting and quite a distance away from me and they nailed it every time.

Batteries seem to last forever, just wish i could say the same for the batteris in my 580 EXII's

im using the V4's indoors and outdoors, i find the outdoor range can be poor, and as soon as you get them replace all batteries in the cactus's because they could have been in for a while...

i just need to learn how to use the flash power properly and maybe get some light stands/brollies to further my knowledge...

Had a set of V4's and the transmitter died - swapped out the batteries and even tried a custom antenna on it but still couldn't get anything more than 2 feet of range out of it. At the price you can afford to replace them if they do break, and most people seem to have had better luck than I've had with them. worth getting a pack of 23AE batteries for the trigger though, hard to find if you run out of power on a shoot!
