Cables, cables everywhere!

Ah! the bain of modern life

PS I recall seeing mentioned on another website (forum?) where someone had a dedicated bench with all chargers on switched plugs ready to attach the appropriate devices.... now that does need the space but is an elegant solution :)

Sadly, space is rather a premium.

Wireless?

Not sure what you mean Bob.

It annoys me so I've left a small gap between the desk and wall, I have one extension underneath for things that never get unplugged and and one 4 gang extension screwed to the wall above the desk for things that do get unplugged, USB etc. I can poke all the cables down the gap, even if the cable then comes back up again it gets rid of the excess cable, I also use the spiral cable wrap for where several cables go to a single device.

Something like THIS or the other options shown?
Allows top and bottom exit leads to be used without them blocking one another. The USB sockets are handy too - I have a few leads permanently plugged in for easy charging of assorted devices.

I use something similar to this (but older) to replace multiple USB chargers.

You can get short and very short USB cables for the standard connectors that will reduce the clutter.

I have one of those but I don't see any USB sockets.

Thanks, have added that to my wishlist

You can get a cable tidy from Ikea that will house a 4 gang extension.

With so many devices these days, there are cables for everything. I have charging cables for iPhone, Kindle, Ring doorbell, Headphones, camera, hair clippers and shaver and it's a mess.

Anyone got any tried and tested solutions?

You have nothing to worry about.
I have 1 desktop PC and a Laptop so that's 2 power cables and 1 network cable, 1 x TV, 1x Nvidia Shield Pro, both network and power cables, 2 x NAS boxes networked so again 2 x power and 2 x network, Xbox one power and network cable. Humax freesat box power and network cable, Amazon Alexa so yet another power cable, 1 x printer and a power cable.
I've also got a 5 port gigabit switch, all the USB and other cables hooked up to the desktop, phone charger, smart watch charger, Logitech remote charger and chargers for my kindle tablet.
I've probably forgotten a couple of items.

Spiral cable wrap is good and easy to use and some cable ties for the smaller cable bundles.

We have a charging cupboard with a socket in it.
It doesn't clear up all the crap you have plugged in permanently and its slightly inconvenient for a cordless toothbrush say that's charging nowhere near a bathroom, but I reckon its halved the size of our rats nest.

9 quid, 10 mins and you've replaced 3 charging bricks.

I can't quite see everything you have in the picture, but one of those would remove the trailing socket and most things you have plugged into it. If you need the trailing socket then just replace it with this

Your next 9 quid goes on these

which make a surprising difference to a desk.

Then some of these

which mop up everything left.

Less than 30 quid, half an hour and things will be looking a lot better.
