I have a roll (well about 23m left) of Kodak Vericolor slide film. this is a slow (ISO 6ish) slide film that devs in C41 designed for making slides from kodak negs so its very insensitive to the red/orange backing. Anyway, I had a go at souping some in Rodinal as a B&W film and I cannot seem to fix out the silver, I have an obvious image on the emulsion side but the back just looks black/exposed.

Do I need to blix it to clear the backing? is there an easy option? I can;t be bothered C41 deving it so trying to get some use from it (failing that does anyone want the rest of the roll?)

If it's a C-41 film it will need some bleaching

Hmmmmm, is there a cheap bleaching option, drop of hydrogen peroxide clear it up? :)

I believe you can buy C-41 bleach as an individual component.

But if you are developing in Rodinal it will only develop the black and white image, which the bleach will clear away in C-41, so you will probably end up with a blank roll if you just bleach it

Are you sure you're not looking at the coloured mask?

If it's for making slides, it shouldnt have a coloured base

The is no coloured base, it devs clear on c41 but everything is very red.

Does it scan ok? I've done C41 in Rodinal before and the negs looked about as clear as mud, but actually scanned well and gave some nice images:
