C2DE8500 vs i7 920

Will I seen any improvement in LR5 speed if I switch from a PC which C2D E8500 8GB Ram to a i7 920 with 8GB ram?

Most likely you will quite a bit, but why stop at a minimum spec of RAM and why not upgrade to SSD at the same time? These are the big factors. Core 2 duo in particular had a really lacking video implementation for HD playback with integrated graphics.
